How does the program help?

Community service is a court-imposed sanction whereby offenders are required to perform a specific number of hours of unpaid work for the community within a specific time frame as a condition of their Probation/Conditional Sentence Order.

What can this program do?

The program will facilitate the successful completion of a court-imposed sanction. It enables the community to play a role in the Criminal Justice System, provides a worthwhile experience for the offender as well as a tangible benefit to the community.

What services does the program provide?

The program provides a suitable work placement for someone who has a Probation/Conditional Sentence Order with a court-imposed sanction to complete community service hours. The program monitors the progress throughout the Order and provides support and encouragement to the client.

Clients are referred to the program by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. The Agency develops and provides work placements and monitors the hours performed. The program has regular ongoing contact with the clients for the purposes of support and supervision.

Who is eligible?

Anyone (male, female, adult & youth) with a Probation/ Conditional Sentence Order that has a condition to perform Community Service work as referred by a Probation Officer.
